You can save them for a next baby, if that’s in the plan, or for a relative who will be happy to receive them. Or you can always also send them to other families in need. But what about those pieces that you can’t quite let go?
If you have a crafty side, try these ideas to keep your memories of the newborn days close.
Transform onesies into cuddlies.
Select an animal pattern, trace on the onesie, sew it all together and then stuff with pillow stuffing or old blankets. Sew on buttons for the eyes (or stitch) and that’s it!
Patch together a keepsake quilt
Pick out all your favorite little clothes and sew them into a quilt. The best part is that you can share the story behind this with your baby when she’s older!
From a clothing ribbon block that your baby can practice grabbing, to a soft book to stimulate his curiosity, his little shirts, blankets, and PJs can all serve as fabric sources for creative interpretation. You can even make plush alphabet letters, fabric flowers, or bunny sock toys!
