Stimulate your child’s interest in learning!

Check out some fun tips to cultivate your child’s awareness
of Maths, Science and Language…

The right combination of nutrition and stimulation at this early stage in your child’s life is crucial, so here are some enjoyable ways to stimulate their minds while spending some real quality time with them too!

Real Life Maths = FUN!
Inject some fun into counting by using familiar objects and real life experiences such as the crayons he uses, the shoes in the shoe rack,
or even the people at a bus stop. Once your child is interested, move
on to addition and subtraction using the same objects and style.

TIPS:
Don’t reprimand too quickly – they need time to work it out.
Remember to reward with a hug or stickers!

What is THIS? How does THAT work?

Arouse your child’s scientific curiosity by constantly talking about the living and non-living things around you such as leaves, plants and rocks. You can even work with your child to create a fun scrapbook
with the different types of leaves you find or check the internet for fun and simple experiments to amaze your child.

TIPS:
If you’re unsure of the answer, show your child how to look up the answer in an Encyclopaedia. This way, he will be more willing to
perform research the next time.

Tell me a STORY!

Playing games, telling stories and simply talking with your child
are some of the best ways to teach him a language – but make
sure you listen to him too. The more he is allowed to get involved
in conversations, the more he will want to improve his vocabulary
and language. Reading is also a great way go so remember to finish
the day with a bedtime story!

TIPS:
Talk with your child about everything he or she is interested in.
Once older, fun word games like Boggle, Scrabble and word search
are also useful in building your child’s vocabulary.
